Our Mission.

Deola Wellness exists to create spaces where people, particularly those from underserved and marginalized communities, can reclaim their voices, honor their stories, and reconnect with the wisdom and resources already within them. Through storytelling, mindfulness, somatic movement, journaling, reflection, and healing-centered wellness experiences, we create opportunities for individuals to pause, reconnect with themselves, and explore how their experiences can inform their purpose rather than define their limitations. We believe every person deserves to be heard, witnessed, and given space to imagine what is possible beyond the circumstances they have experienced.

This mission is deeply rooted in my own story. I know what it feels like to have your experiences minimized, your voice overlooked, and your circumstances speak louder than your potential. As a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence, someone impacted by the school-to-prison pipeline, and a young person who was expelled from school in the sixth grade, I experienced systems and circumstances that could have easily become the definition of my life. By sixteen, my ACE score was a 9. Yet, I made a decision to see my story differently. I began to understand that while my experiences were part of my story, they did not have to determine its ending.

That realization became the foundation of my work. Today, as a Howard University graduate pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University, I use storytelling, mindfulness, somatic movement, journaling, and healing arts to facilitate wellness experiences that invite people to reflect, reconnect, and recognize their own capacity for growth.

Deola Wellness was born from the belief that our stories can be more than accounts of what happened to us. They can become sources of connection, wisdom, resilience, and purpose.

Our mission is to create spaces where people do not have to be saved or spoken for, but where they can be heard, witnessed, and supported in discovering the power that has been within them all along.
